Eclectus
Hi, we have just got a beautiful little male Eclectus (Buddy). We have ad him 3 weeks. We did have 2 IRN until yesterday, but they were getting very aggressive towards my children and me and the male IRN was particularly aggressive towards Buddy so we decided to remove the threat to us and Buddy. The sad thing is he seems to be very sad today, I think is because he has no company :(
We are thinking of getting another bird as company and are thinking of a Galah, is this a good idea.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Personally i wouldn't jump the gun that much...

If you just had to re-home birds because they weren't getting along (which is what i gather from your post) you have absolutely no guarantee that that wouldn't just happen again in exactly the same way :/

- and if they hate each other, they are likely to also hate any human they used to love for "fraternizing with the enemy" at least immediately after handling, or being seen giving attention to "the enemy"...

If you simply really want a galah for yourself anyway, have the time and means, and are prepared to care for each of the birds in separate rooms away from each other without playing favourites (in the scenario where they do not get along), then by all means you may as well try and introduce them on friendly terms. :)

If your worry is purely that your eclectus is lonely - try and keep them more entertained, and if you cant be there leave the TV on kids shows, or the radio on for them, or place them next to an interesting window, plenty of foraging etc...

some things to consider:..
Galahs are dusty birds, and eclectus produce oil instead. And though they are the smallest and arguably the easiest to keep... galahs are still cockatoos at heart, so do not be guilted into getting one by your ekkie without being fully prepared for his own needs. especially if he hates the ekkie...

:) gratz on your new ekkie and i hope everything goes well

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your Ekki:)

I would personally wait and see how it goes with your Ekki first before you decide on getting another, especially a Cockatoo!
