Bonding with My Dad

Hello everyone [emoji5],
So I have a parrot that is 10+ (maybe a lot older, but I’m not sure) and he absolutely hates my dad.

He gets along well with me, but with my dad, he really hates him. He tries to bite him whenever my dad is around and my dad has tried to bond with him by changing his food and water, giving him almonds (he really likes them), and even petting him through his cage. My parrot lets him pet somewhat. Usually with me, he bends his head all the way down but with my dad, my dad pets him but he my parrot is looking at him with whole time but he’s never done that with him before so I’m thinking, progress. But it never goes further than that.

I had gone to a bird farm and asked the questions and they said there is nothing we can do because he probably just hates men, but I was hoping we could find a way for my dad to bond with my parrot.

Any suggestions? Thanks so much ❤️

try having your dad sit and talk to your parrot, also any time he walks through the room have him offer an almond. Parrots take time but bribery works wonders with them
