I see this excuse used so many places when someone wants to find another home for their bird. What is it with our world today that pets are disposable?
How many people would re home their children if they "do not have time for them"?

Sorry I just needed to rant to people that would understand.

because some ppl think and have been brought up to believe there is an excuss for everything! and in having an excuss is a perfectly good get out of being responsible card!

Pets are disposible because people are selfish. Any time you hear the excuse "I don't have the time" the person is basically saying that other things are just more important and take precedence. "I don't have the time" is sometimes a valid excuse - sometimes good prioritizing requires it so you don't do something half way - but it's not a valid excuse for something that was obviously a long term commitment.
