Introducing conure to lovebird

Hey everyone, I'm really hoping someone here may have the experience to answer my question? I've been doing a lot of research and deliberating for a long time, but I want to ask some people with lovebird experience to see if there's anything that could go wrong ...

So I've had a lovebird for just over a year now (he's about a year and 3 months old). He's really bonded to me as it's just myself and him that live in my apartment. I'm considering getting a conure too now, this conure is 4 months old, hand-tamed, the person selling him hasn't enough time for the bird due to university, everything seems to be okay with the conure. If everything goes well and my lovebird accepts the new parrot, will he start ignoring me? I love my birdy and we have such a good bond that I'd be a bit sad if he wasn't interested anymore.

The conure currently lives with a finch so I think he should be ok accepting my lovebird. So far my lovebird is really social with all humans, but he's never really met any other birds since I've had him so I can't be sure how he'll react.

Is it possible for two birds and get along with each other and still be affectionate with me, or is it a one-or-the-other sort of situation? That's my main question really, haha.

Thanks very much for your time~!

The short answer is Yes something can go wrong in a fight your lovebird can be hurt or killed. Lovebird's can be bossy little birds and they don't back down. That being said My Bogart the senegal has a lovebird that preens him for hours and since she can fly she finds him anywhere in the house, and he calls for her it's the one time he gets really loud.

Change of attitude towards you? Answer.
Depends on the birds and how much time they spend together . again I refer to a Bogart and LIB (little yellow bird) story she was preening Bogart while her owner and I were talking so I wasn't paying attention she flew to her owner and was sitting on him, then went off to her cage I looked down and Bogart had climbed off his play gym and walked over to me I saw him on the floor and reached down to let him step up and got the fire bit out of me I mean he was hanging off my finger and crunching down. ( I realize now that he had gotten Hormonal while being preened and was just looking for someone to blame for her leaving ) after putting him in his cage for the rest of the day and using a stick to pick him up for two days he was back to being a good bird I now limit his social time with lib to only 15 mins a visit.
So there you go make your own decisions, but I think if you limit their hanging out time with each other you'll have a chance of keeping your bond, but never let them be alone and unsupervised as thing happen very fast in the birdy world. Best of Luck
