Peach Faced Lovebird: Zeianna, born June 2013
My Zeianna is about 5 months old, she's getting some remarkably bright feathers on her tail but I noticed on either side of her head, behind her eyes and down the sides of her neck, the feathers are looking grey as you may be able to see in the photo. I'm a new mama where lovebirds are concerned. The color looks quite lovely, I've just never seen this is any photos. Is this coloring normal?

She could be an olive peachfaced lovebird they are a draker green amd have that gray surrounding the pach, there are so many lovebird mutations its hard to say but i wouldnt worry about the coloring.

I'm with Marcia on this one, it's near impossible to determine the blood lines unless there is a written record, and I have seen quite a few gray and partially gray lovebirds. I wouldn't be overly concerned about the gray color - if it was turning yellow, or red, I would be concerned, cause that could be caused by liver or other problems, but gray? I think she's fine.
