Hello! I have 2 young lovebird (male and female). A got it 3 months ago. I hand tamed the boy in the cage and now he can stay on my finger, the girl si so afraid. How can I tame better the 2 bird? I tried to offer food in my hand but they don't come to eat on my hand.

let them take their time at trusting you :) if she seems scared inside her cage, dont invade her cage. let her come to you at her own pace. leave the door open, place some millet near her cage and see if she comes out on her own. ;) then if she does, let her go to you, she will learn that your presence there isnt a bad thing and in time she will begin to trust you. it may take years, but i find that earning their trust is better than forcing taming on them

Just like DallyTsuka says let her come to you on her own especially since your doing good with the male already. So let her follow him to do the same. Monkey see monkey do. :)

Ok, I taked cuted apple in the cage, and they eat. I do this about 2 weeks and no progress. I tried to give them in my hand some grains (cereals) and they not coming on my hand. I don.t know if they will accept me.

it took me a year and a half to even get my female lovebird to step onto my hand, and she was 2 years old when she finally asked me to pet her. dont ever give up! 2 weeks is not a long time for a bird, so keep working on her trust, even if it's slow :)

you can see how she is now if you look at my avatar photo at the top of this reply box :)
