Taming lovebirds

So, a friend of mine recently got 2 lovebirds. I believe she only had the lovebirds for 2 days now and she has gotten bitten on 2 occasions now. Both of the lovebirds live together and according to my friend, they sometimes attack each other (I did tell her to separate them).

She asked me for help to tame them and I'm not quite sure what to tell her.

Could any of you help me with this?

Re: Taming lovebirds

Lovebids ( and almost any parrot) are much harder to tame when there are 2 of them , raised together. They will naturally be more comfortable with each other ( the're birds afterall) than you. Common practice isto separate them in 2 cages, and take the timeto give each the needed out of cage time, one on one time, needed to get them tame. Not a lot of people have that much free time on their hands. 2-3 hours a day, every day is about right, more is better.

Owning parrots means you will at some point get bit, unless you're an expert at reading body lanfuage of your bird -that takes time to establish it. Even then parrots can get nippy during puberty andduring mating season.

Have your friend visit ushere, become a member - I am sure that they will find a lot of good info and even better friends here.
