I hope you aren't paying extra for buying a "Bolivian" macaw!

Congrats though on your new addition! :) It'll be great to watch the little one grow!

But I saw some of the other babies and at 2 months old they were 1200 grams they were really big babies. When I go by up there I'll have to get pics of the others babies to. Maybe from the pic you can see the size of theses guys. The parents are monster size lol.

Welcome back! Just be aware that the baby may still need to be handfed cause they can take up to 9 months to wean.

That's when she thinks it will be ready. But she said I won't get lucky until he is eating on his own for over a week. And perching fine and doing everything on his own.

Sorry if I wrote that wrong. But she said her babies been around 4 months when they been weaned. But she said depending on the babies is when it will be ready. I was just saying that's how big they were at 2 months. But no none of them are ready yrt.

It's better for them to be eating on their own for at least 2-3 weeks before they could "potentially" be considered weaned. When they go into a new home, they can easily regress and want to be hand fed more.

What Monica says above is exactly right! They can regress and want to be fed again. That's something to think about!
