I have a 10 year old blue and gold macaw. We recently moved into a new home. I have noticed her scratching, scratching with her beak, etc. There has been a lot of the soft white down feathers around her cage, and we have found just a few small colored feathers. She has recently lost 3 large feathers in the past 2 1/2 weeks. Just wondering if anyone knew if it were molting or plucking? Thank you.

"Willie"&"Lola"B&G Macaw,
"Dixie"LSC2, and "Nico" Scarlet Macaw.
It is molting season right now!!!! My macaws are both going through it....
I wasn't sure when "molting" season is, I'm in Virginia, but my B&G has been doing the same, and has lost a few big feathers in the last month or so. I was concerned about plucking but really don't think that's what is going on. Good luck.
