My soon to be 8 yr. old GCC is back to removing her feathers. About 6 mos. ago she removed a large patch of feathers on her chest and legs, lost about 10% of body weight and had a lump in her crop. The vet brought her back to full health. Now shes at it again. The vet gave her 2 injections to calm her hormones and I'm putting Nortriptoline capsules in her water to calm her down. I'll call the vet again tomorrow. Is feather plucking hormonal or behavioral? I sure hope she gets over this. She is such a pretty bird.
