Hi,
I am new to the forum, but not new to birds. I got my first lovebird (a female black masked) when I was in second grade. I now have 4 little parrots: Lincoln the blue crowned conure, Lola the green-cheek conure, Connor the yellow-sided green cheek conure, and Dorian ("Buzzy") the senegal parrot. They are awesome! Can't wait to hear your stories and share some of mine : )

Thank you for the welcome messages. : ) It's nice to be able to chat with people who also love birds. Many of my friends do not fully appreciate how delightful it is to live with birds and how comical they can be when they say just the right thing at just the right time!

Yes, welcome to the forum. I totally understand what you mean when u said your friends don't understand. I talk about my birds to basically anyone who is willing to listen and my friends and family look at me sometimes like they are sure i am lieing to them, like to animal could do the things i say my birds do. =) They don't get how awesome they are!

so true YNAmomma! My mom calls me a birdbrain...and you can imagine the slack-jawed curiosity of the drive-thru workers when I grab some fast food with a senegal parrot on my shoulder!!

LMAO omg that reaction i would pay to see. I got a similar reaction when a boyscout rang my door bell selling popcorn and i answered with my amazons perched on their wooden perch in my hand. He got out," Hello...." Before he went into," WOAH, DAD COME SEE THESE!" in which i started laughing as it dad came running from the car as if he thought something was wrong lol.

The boy scout! I love it! I came home from work one day to find my boyfriend having a meeting with a little hussy client of his (he works from home). I cannot stand this girl... My blue crowned conure Lincoln is very in tune with my emotions and must have sensed that I didn't like having this client in my home. When she stood up and grabbed her purse to leave, Lincoln flew directly over her head, swooping so close to her that his tail feathers brushed the top of her hair. She squealed with terror and I said, "Oh, I'm sorry about that..." and then went over and picked up Lincoln and took him to a different room and shut the door. Lincoln and I shared a little giggle over his well-timed little social faux pas.

My wife and i both take my long time pet YNA Jake where ever we go,people's reactions when they pass in the car and notice a parrot, Too Funny. And the girls at the bank drive thru , when i pass Jake thru the drawer, She knows she getting a dog treat.
