Hi my name is Bobbi. I have an awesome dusky pionus:grey: about 9 yrs old give or take a few. This bird has been a great bird up until a couple of months ago. He/she is now making weird noises with her rear in the air and its non stop at times and now shes screaming alot. Shes got everything, shes healthy, so why is she doing this. My husband wants me to get rid of her but I cant. I Love her. Is there something I dont know about with these birds? Does anyone know what may be causeing this normally quiet bird to be doing this now? Please e-mail me. Thanks:confused:

Birds tend to hide any illnesses. Unless you have had this bird to an avian vet recently I suggest another visit. There are no vets on this forum. We have people with experience but any changes in a normally good bird should be evaluated.

I second a vet visit, but it also sounds like it might be hormonal. Is this a female? But, you should make sure just in case. You have had her for a long enough time to know this isn't normal behavior for her.

Shes in mating mood....thats what she is doing but it will pass, do not pet her back or rear cause you would be encouraging her.
