Hi,
I had two Bluefront Amazons that I basically hatched that are or were, 11 years old.
One of them died last nite and I'm still crying......trust me.

What i want to know.....the other bird is kind of sad and doesn't have her sister anymore.....

Has anyone used those stuffed things u put in the cage for them to kind of snuggle up to.

This bird is just kind of not knowing what has happend. She's so used to the other one.

Thanx

Wow, I can't even imagine...

I have not used any of the stuffed toys you re referring to. It is expected that both you and the remaining bird will have to grieve. I suppose I would ask would having a stuffed bird help you? I'm doubtful. I suspect the remaining bird and you may benefit from spending time with each other.

A side note to consider, that you need not answer: Do you know that COD of the first bird? Was it a contagion or environmental factor that you should have the second bird treated for?

Good luck, and hopefully some other members will speak up about the stuffed toy.

I am so sorry for your loss.. Fly free little one.

Birds are like humans in that sense and do grieve for the loss of a mate..
Some do have luck with the snuggle buddy or a stuffed animal. But it is going to take time and patients to heal the wound.

Did you find out how the other died to make sure it wasn't something your other Amazon might have? I've never tried those things, but maybe you could try and see if it does help.
