Older female eclectus and a 5 year old male eclectus that i got a year ago to keep my female company since i male that i got with her died.
Does anyone know if the male eclectus help with taking care of babies? My male goes in the box when mommy comes out. He watchesthrough the box doorway when mommy is in there.

I believe he does. However I STRONGLY encourage you to reach out to experienced eckie breeders. I hope our admins will permit me to suggest you join every eckie breeding group you can find on Facebook as well as breeding/feeding trouble shooting groups. We have parrot lovers here but most aren't breeders and to my knowledge none of us breeds eckies. They are a very unique species and you could easily lose the chick AND the parents if you don't get the proper help.

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Welcome to the forums and bird parronthood!

Please take SilverSage's advice and immediately seek ekkie-specific breeder advice and assistance. The stakes are very high, and the reward for properly raising the chicks is enormous!
