Yellow nape amazon, orange wing amazon, blue front amazon, red lored amazon, African Grey, Blue and Gold Macaw, Scarlet Macaw, sulpher crested cockatoo, and a pair of Quakers-- my wonderful and spoile
Hi. I have actually been a lurker here for some time, and figured I would love to introduce myself to all of the wonderful bird lovers here,

I got my first bird about 2o years ago, an orange wing amazon. My bird family has grown now and they bring me so much happiness.

My name is Cathy. I also love horses. I used to show a lot in dressage, but now just ride for pleasure.

Hi Cathy. We have many members for the good state of Fla. There are also several breeders of companion birds because it is so warm. Happy you talking to us now and not lurking.

Looks like your really like Amazon Parrots. ME TOO, unfortunately, I don't own one yet. But hopefully someday I would like to own a Yellow Naped, Blue front or yellow front Amazons. They are my favorites. If you were close to me, I would love to come and check out your flock.

Welcome to the forum Cathy. I thought Quakers are illegal in FL?

Wow! That is an impressive flock! Welcome to you and your big avian family! :) Nice variety of Amazons, two nice big Macaws, a Cockatoo, and a pair of Quakers besides. Just one Quaker keeps me plenty busy, so I'm sure that life is never dull for you! :D

Quakers are legal in Florida, but there is a large population of feral Quakers in the Sunshine State.

Hi everyone. Thank you so much for such a warm welcome. I am sorry for not replying sooner, but I ended up in the hospital with a blood clot. I missed my birds so much. It is great to be back home. I have two daughters ages 12 and 15 who really love the birds too, so they were all very well cared for and loved. I just missed them.

I have an amazon who holds a grudge. He was actually a rescue who has come a long ways. But right at the moment I am on his bad side as I wasn't home. :)

I came home with lots of treats and toys though. :)

I know I will really love this group here and look forward to learning from everyone and making friends.

I love all birds and could never decide on a favorite, but if I had to pick one I think it would be a yellow nape amazon. I really love the amazon personality and colors.

I love how majestic macaws are and how they are such big puppies in personality.

Quakers make me laugh. They are little acrobats and so smart and naughty too. Well my boy, Huckleberry Finn, can open any cage. He is really silly.
And luckily they are legal to have in Florida.

Hugs,
Cathy
