Alright, so things have been kind of crazy, and in the end it all sucks. Here's the scoop:

I work to pay for school as I go. I have 2 jobs, an office job, and I work at a hotel in the restaurant. I work approximately 65-70 hours a week and am currently going to school full time during the summer.

I recently quit (actually yesterday was my last day) at the Hotel because my grades have been suffering b/c I haven't had any time to study or do projects. Also, it's definitely the more stressful of the two, I'm sick of being a waitress, and it just basically sucks.

Today, I come into my office job (I work in the office part of an industrial plant), and lo-and-behold Michigan's poor economy has struck us and it is shut down and 40+ people are laid off.

So last week I was working way too much, and now I don't have a job

I guess on the bright side, I will be able to spend more time with my birds.

The part that really bothers me is that for so many people, this was their career. Everyone that worked in the plant had been there from 6 years - 43 years. I feel so bad for them. Plus it's not like they can just go get another job...people are getting laid off left and right, and businesses are closing down all over. It's horrible.

Well...I don't have a computer at home, so I don't know how often I will be able to come on. Just thought I'd let you all know.

Oh Nicole, I'm so sorry Unfortunately this is a world wide thing. We left our home town because of that very reason.

I work to pay for school as I go.

How will you get on about school now, do you have a grant you could appy for? to help you continue with your schooling.

I hope you are soon able to get back to us, you will be missed. We will be here whenever you can get back to us. :D

Gosh Nicole ... I feel so horrible for you. My heavens you were stretched sooo thin with both of your jobs and school side by side. As you said, "It sucks" ... not a good situation. :(

I hope you are able to find an avenue to help with school. I like what you said about having time with your fids ... enjoy it now while the time is available.

I'm keeping you close in my thoughts and hope you are able to have access to the forum more often. My best goes to you.

Life is so unfair at times. I hope u can find the silver lining that they say all the clouds have.
I am sure someone as hard working and determined as yourself will rise above.

I have seen, and learned, that the old saying, "when one door closes another one opens" always seems to be true ... I know how you feel Nichole, I too worked my way through college - full-time job/full-time student and it was not a lot of fun (all while trying to find time to spend with Christy). Something amazing will happen to you!
