Alright, so things have been kind of crazy, and in the end it all sucks. Here's the scoop:
I work to pay for school as I go. I have 2 jobs, an office job, and I work at a hotel in the restaurant. I work approximately 65-70 hours a week and am currently going to school full time during the summer.
I recently quit (actually yesterday was my last day) at the Hotel because my grades have been suffering b/c I haven't had any time to study or do projects. Also, it's definitely the more stressful of the two, I'm sick of being a waitress, and it just basically sucks.
Today, I come into my office job (I work in the office part of an industrial plant), and lo-and-behold Michigan's poor economy has struck us and it is shut down and 40+ people are laid off.
So last week I was working way too much, and now I don't have a job
I guess on the bright side, I will be able to spend more time with my birds.
The part that really bothers me is that for so many people, this was their career. Everyone that worked in the plant had been there from 6 years - 43 years. I feel so bad for them. Plus it's not like they can just go get another job...people are getting laid off left and right, and businesses are closing down all over. It's horrible.
Well...I don't have a computer at home, so I don't know how often I will be able to come on. Just thought I'd let you all know.
