Hi everyone,
I've had another breakthrough with Charlie today! Just like last week, I took him out to clean his cage. It was a bit of a struggle to get him out, but once he's out he's very calm! He wouldn't leave my hand so I had to do a one handed cleaning of his cage, but he remained very calm and sat with me! Is there any way to teach a somewhat wild canary how to "step up"? Just to try to make this an easier process.

I managed to get him to sit on the open door after and he's currently chattering while sitting there. It's making me so happy to see him out of the cage.

While he is flighted, his wings are not as strong as I'd like them to be. He can't make it all the way across the room yet. I would like some advice on helping him strengthen his wings, because I want to get him a flight cage in the near future.

Any advice is appreciated! I cannot believe that he will sit with me and come out now. What a happy time for us. I'm so proud of this timid little bird.

Now, if only I can get the new budgie to this point... :)
