I took my new pionus to the vet for check up and while I was there, I was asked what I fed. I said pellets, seeds, fresh fruits & veggies and other cooked mixes.

She looked at me like I was a horrible person and said I needed to get rid of all the seeds.

I'm sorry, but I don't see a problem with giving them a pinch of seeds each day. I feed a bowl of pellets free choice, a separate bowl with fresh fruit/veggies/sprouts/and or cooked foods (pasta, grains, legumes), and hand feed seeds as treats or put some in foraging toys.

Does no one else with pionus or amazons feed ANY seeds??

I do feed some seeds every day in addition to their pellets and fresh food. I personally feel that a varied, balanced diet is important.
