I wanted to share here how awesome making your own tree stands can be! My dad made this stand from Ironwood, it includes no glue or anything, just the wood. I know my bird loves it, he crawls all over it and chews on it a bunch. They are very easy to make and can give your bird a 'natural' tree to climb on.:D

It is very nice my only concern would be if it fell over while your bird was on it. I would have your dad secure it to a base or something so there is no chance of it falling over.

Looks like a lot of fun! :D

(I second Laura- it would be safer if it had a base to keep it from falling over)

It does look like a lot of fun with those natural branches! I agree though about it needing a base. Safety and stability as well as keeping poop off the floor :).

I have been looking for a mat to go under it, and he said if I needed any branches added to ask, so I'm thinking about a branch to go behind the desk to keep it up. I didn't want a base on it so I can tilt it to fit the desk and to tilt it differently as he gets use to it. I think a branch to hold it behind the desk would be perfect.

None at the moment -- I volunteer at a bird rescue, where I've made various avian friends
Looks great! As the others have said, make sure it's secure.
