No too long ago one of my customers came by, and she fell in love with Willow, my Jardine.
she eeeeewd, and ahhhhhd over her like crazy, she really went head over heals for Willow.
Willow reacted the same way,and seemed very friendly with her, it was instant.
She was telling me she'd been looking for a medium size bird since her Hahns Macaw passed away.
She had a 20 week old female quaker that she her ex-husband sold her, but for her it wasn't really working out.
I thought to myself, how strange is this?? she LOVES Willow, and I've been looking for a quaker, ever since Safari died.
we talked for a bit, discussing all the details. A week passed then she contacted me and said she would LOVE to give Willow a good home, so we ended up taking Willow out with us yesterday, and I brought the quaker home + the difference in cash
Dave, myself & Sarah drove out to her place. I couldn't drive as I had the flu, but was able to make the trip.
she had a very similar cage to Willows, almost the same size, it was the exact same colour, and I felt Willow would be right at home here.
One of the main reasons why I re-homed Willow is she was very very loud, too loud for my Autistic son Tyler, which drove him crazy every time she called, or screamed, and for other reasons, I just felt this was the right move for all of us,
.... and I know she will be much happier with my customer....although I have to admit I had reservations doing this....I didn't want to put her into another home, she's only been here 6 months, but my customers home is much more quiet than ours is, it's very similar to my cousins house where Willow came from originally, so she'll settle in very nicely to that type of environment.
now this little girl has not had a lot of handling time, so she's a bit flighty,BUT doesn't bite--whew!
Yesterday when she was removing her from the cage she went ballistic and I thought to myself "hmmmm, that's going to have to change" that is not good!
when I brought her home, it took about 10 minutes for her to finally step up on my finger, I spoke to her very quietly, just chatting. Once she realized I wasn't going to hurt her, she stepped right up.....twice!
she also took 2 treats from me, then transferred her into her new home.
I heard from my customer today and she said Willow has settled in beautifully, she stepped right up for her, had her out for a while, and stepped right up to back into the cage....she's totally surprised that I got my quaker to step up so soon, haha
Now I need help figuring out a name for her!! so I need some sugguestions... she is a green Pallid Quaker, and so very pretty....right now she looks a little ruffled as she has some pin feathers coming in.
I thought of a few names but nothing really pops out: Jade, Ivy, Sqweeker, idk.
here is a picture of 'her'
