How to Discourage...
Regurgitating her food.
I completely understand that this is a sign of love and affection, but it's also really gross and she's starting to actually bring up food now whereas years ago it was just the head bobbing motion. Now it's full blown mouth full of slimy pre-chewed yuck and to be honest, it turns my tummy a bit! Haha! Like I said, I know it's a positive sign of her loving on me, but how do I discourage it? Thus far I'm trying to ignore it and move my hand/arm away when she starts, then show her lots of praise and attention when she stops. She does it a little less I guess, but she's a persistant girl! What do you guys suggest? ![]() |

Re: How to Discourage...
Sam's code word is "enough" and it typically works to encourage her to stop doing whatever she's doing...sometimes it's being mouthy, sometimes loud, sometimes other things - but I've stuck to saying "enough" when I don't want her to do something so will carry that through to this. She is very smart, but equally stubborn sometimes! Thanks for the tip - forgot to add a verbal cue to it!
