Spilling water bowl

I know u guys are gonna get tired of hearing from me n stuff but Punky spills his water bowl quite a bit and it gets all over the place and makes a mess, any way to stop this. I know he's just doing it for attention and to be goofy haha i just dont want the water to mess the carpet up!! Any input appreciated

Some use a water bottle for birds. I do not as I would worry about how clean they stay.

Is the water bowl on a door that swings out of the cage or does it go into a holder that hangs on the bars?

You might be able to drill a hole at the top of it and put a stainless steel bolt through that has a wing nut and washer on the other side to hold it in place. It would likely be sturdier if it is on a swing out door, but I bet it would still be helpful even if you have to run it through bars instead. If you are running it through bars, make sure you use a large washer so he can't get to the nut. You already know he likes to unscrew nuts.

He likes the noise he's making. I'd give him something that makes noise like a large bell. Or attach an empty bowl holder to the bars for him to flip up and down and make his own racket without spilling the water all over.

I want to add that it can be helpful to keep something under your bird's cage to protect the carpet. Long ago I ripped out all my carpeting to go back to hardwood floors which just hold up better to pets. But, not everyone can do that. You can use a tarp, plastic sheeting or the things they use in hospital operating rooms to catch blood and what not. The former owner of my zon was a surgical nurse and gave me a few. They are really nice because they hold up good and you can even clean poop back off of them. My Nanday is a projectile pooper so I have one under her cage. You can even put whatever you use up the wall behind the bird's cage to protect from water, flung chewed up food or the overly talented poopers.

Puck has a water bowl and a water bottle, and he uses both. I've noticed that the water bowl gets dirty pretty quickly; sometimes I have to change it several times a day! The bottle stays cleaner longer for us, because Puck drops food and poops in his water dish (there are no perches above it, he just does).

Is Punky's dish attached firmly to the cage? The way Puck's dishes are, they can't be tipped over or anything.

Right now Puck and I are playing "Knock the water bottle off the table and have the servant pick it backup again."

This is what I used to use for my cockatoos, they are nice because they attach securely to the cage, but if you spin the bowl it pops off. I've never witnessed a bird that was able to get them off but it makes it really nice because I have used the ones that simply bolt to the cage, problem is, then you have to completely detach it every time you need to give them water.

I had a bird that did this; she'd go under the bowl and hit her head against the bottom of it, sending it crashing to the floor. She'd then proceed to strut around like she'd accomplished something wonderful.

I ended up drilling holes through the side it the bowl and wiring it to the metal ring it sat in (you know, the sort of bowl with the two hooks that go on the bars, and the metal loops the bowl nests in). It worked for me.

Clever boy. I don't know if your cage will be big enough but for my larger parrots i use a big ceramic dog dish.

My Uncle had a Galah that used to do the same, my Uncle got so sick of replacing his water he taught the bird to ask for a drink of water. But of course someone has to be around to get the water when the bird asks.
Usually a parrot drinks first thing in the morning & last at dusk.

Finn takes baths in his water bowl and spills everywhere, but I don't mind. It's easy to clean up. Water isn't just for drinking
