And there's slight peeling on the lower beak. It's kind of like peeling skin after a sun burn. I'm worried, because my other cockatiel which is a mature lutino has a beak that is completely smooth.

As for the overall look, my grey cockatiel's beak kind of looks like the one in the photo at the top of the website of that hyacinth blue macaw's beak.

Is it something to worry about, or do cockatiel beaks heal from extremely minor injuries like this??

I thought beaks peeled. Mine do. Does you tiel have anything he can rub his beak on that would help his peel? I'm not going to say it's okay because I'm not a vet but beaks do peel.

It's in fact more normal to have a chipping, flaking beak than it is to have a completely flawless smooth one (although not saying anything is wrong with your lutino). It's made of keratin like our fingernails, and is constantly shedding and growing cells, and when it does, that's what it looks like.

My gcc's beak peels and has lines. I think its because they grow out and its like a finger nail. Your nails peel and so do their beaks :) I hope this helps! :)
