Just curious if there are certain grasses that are safe for parrots to play with and even eat?

I'm most interested in zebra grass and blue fescue.

never heard of a toxic grass but never seen a bird (and ive had em outside on the ground) interested. I have tried giving them dandelion greens...which are spose to be healthy but they toss em

Unfortunately that is not an option, as my grass gets treated and I do not have a personal garden b/c I am in the city and I have neighbors who do not take care of their properties in which I could trust that I have not had my garden or grass compromised from the nasty things in there yard.

grass? don't give your bird marijuana!!!!

seriously though, it's not the best thing for them, but it's not the worst, dandelion and clover is ok but I wouldn't even bother. Birds typically live outside around grass....I haven't read anything danger warnings about grass mostly decorative plants.

It's enrichment for them to enjoy nibbling and playing with . My budgies scream at me when I offer grass they love it!

I agree with playing with it... and a treat if they like it...but I keep clark on a mostly pellet diet and I'm not going to go out and dig up grass for him.

My girl is on a mostly pellet diet also , but i like to offer her variety of things also ... as for going out digging up grass I never suggested u should .. I generally just pluck a handful no digging required.
