These birds are in need of a good home.
SYMPHONY is a male, 10 year old, beautifully feathered, lesser sulphur crested cockatoo. He loves being scritched, but is still developing the trust necessary for a step-up. He has an extensive vocabulary, has been known to call for his "mommy" when he's scared, or ask you, "how ya doin' sugar?" when you clean his cage. Symphony can even whistle. He's a good eater. He likes to stay on his cage or perch, and seldom wanders.
We almost always have smaller birds for adoption, including cockatiels UPTOWN and DOWNTOWN, who were featured on an earlier calendar cover. Smaller birds can be the right match for many households, in terms of lifestyle and life span.
QUORK is a scarlet macaw and BETSY a military macaw. These two were part of a large group that came to us from an animal confiscation in NC in 2004. Many of the animals were sick or had died, but some showed their remarkable resilience like these two. Aren't parrots amazing? It is in their nature to be adaptable.
Betsy and Quork were adopted and well cared for, but it is now time for their next home. Phoenix Landing takes lifetime responsibility for the birds that come to us, so we want to make sure their next home is as good as the one they have enjoyed for the last 7 years. We do not know their ages, since there was no history of them when they first came.
HAMPTON and ISHY are an adorable pair of lovebirds. Hampton, the peach face, is a bit interactive, especially if it involves food. Ishy appreciates his personal space, but is so beautiful to watch. They enjoy flying, and we'd like them to keep that capability in a safe environment. They are avid eaters of many foods, and especially enjoy the mash we make for the birds at The Landing because it has the healthy grain Kamut.
