A final goodbye for my tiel Tweeters.

Thanks. They do become part of our family, like a best friend or a child, that's the best thing about pets. :)

:( What a beautiful teil and such a way to go. There are no words that can make the hurt and longing go away. I'm glad to hear you let the cat go later. The poor cat was doing only what comes naturally but it is a tragic thing you baby wound up in the wrong place at the wrong time. I love cats to death but I have big feelings on feral cats, free-roaming pet cats and especially the people that don't spay or neuter and dump the poor things..grr.

I am so sorry for your loss. :(

What a handsome birdie he was! He reminds me a lot of my Blanco.

Thanks guys. I love cats pretty much as much as I love birds, and that poor girl was going to starve!, Guess what? She ended up having 3 kittens! I feed them now..... funny how that works... and he does look a lot like Blanco!!

That part doesn't surprise me at all. ::sigh:: and then those kittens will be having kittens..I know they don't all come from irresponsible pet owners but I'd say I good majority of them probably do.

I've never seen a white faced tiel like that before. Where did you get him?

Sorry Wulfgeist, I didn't notice your reply. I got him from my dad's friend, his wife is a breeder. She couldn't get to fix the splayed leg completely; she gave him to us for a discount, but for a tiel like him I would pay 100x more. We didn't get him because he was cheaper, but because he was by far the sweetest! He came right up to my dad and stepped up, all the other remaining tiels ran away since they didn't know him. She usually sells the tiels once they are 200% fully weaned at 3-4 months, but nobody wanted Tweeters since he was handicapped. :( So he finally got a home at 6 1/2 months, and I think there were only 2 other chicks left. So, I guess that's the story of how we got him. :)

This thread made me cry! So sorry for your loss! He was so beautiful!
