Hi guys

My partner is thinking of purchasing an African Grey. But they're pretty expensive and hard to come by here in Australia.

Any suggestions on how to get one from America? is this possible??

If you go into the link Terry have posted, it is illegal to import parrots into Australia!

As far as I am aware it is extremely hard (near impossible) to import bird into Australia...

IF (and that's a big if) you were able to bypass the strict regulations about importing livestock, the cost of three months or more in quarantine would make the total price far more than if you simply bought one from a local breeder. They're not easy to find, but there are CAGs being bred here. It's also possible to get many of the big Macs, but again, you'll pay through the nose for them because of the rarity.

In the same way, a common white cocky goes for squillions overseas: supply and demand, I guess.
