Hi im buying a CAG tomorrow. A friend gave me a cage that i am busy disinfecting now. I have a lovebird in a cage in the lounge already. Can i keep the two together in the same room?
How super exciting!!! I am so happy to hear you've found one, Elvin!!
For safety reasons many recommend quarantining any new birds for at least 30 days, and to have the new bird fully vetted (for possibly infectious diseases) during that time.

I concur - a 30 day quarantine (in another room, that is) is a good idea. Some bird diseases are quite virulent, and you don't want anything going through the flock.
I think this also helps the original residents (birds, that is), as they get to hear each other's voices for awhile before they're moved into the same room. That's what we've always done, and it seems to make the transition smoother.
