Lukah- Sun Conure, 10 months old!
Well the title says it all! I believe that Sun Conure's can eat almonds and today at the store I saw shelled almonds. I bought him an amazing foraging toy (here it is for anyone who's interested- refillable, heavy duty, washable, etc. [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001MWZF7S/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1]Amazon.com: Creative Foraging Systems Foraging Sphere 3-Inch Diameter: Pet Supplies[/ame]) and am wondering if I put shelled almonds in it, that might make the foraging even a little more difficult and exciting for him.

The only thing I'm worried about is will he eat the shell? Is that bad for him? Would it be better to put un-shelled ones in?

Thanks for your help!

I don't think Sun Conure's beak is strong enough to break open a Almond shell so personally I would put shelled almonds in there.
