'Rio' - Mexican Red Head Amazon (2016)
My bird will be coming home in 2-3 weeks, and I have read all the posts and looked on Youtube for more amazon information. I have seen that some birds, especially when outside are using a leash or harness. Can anyone advise what this piece is called? Are they effective and safe?
thanks...:green1:

There are several harnesses for birds on the market. I've personally used Aviator and Flight Suit. Both are safe if you are careful and aware. I prefer Aviator because the Flight Suit is secured with velcro and is made of a thin cloth that can be chewed through.

They are Aviator Harness. Google it to find vendors for them. They come in different sizes. You have to train your parrot to accept puting it on, and there are a few videos out there on how to do that. Some take to it very easily, some it takes quite awhile , like my Salty. If you start right away chances are your baby will be quick.
