Gus must be tricked into bathing. It can take ages. Today I started in the bathtub with a new set up ... he was interested but too frightened. So I moved back to the kitchen sink, with a trickle of faucet water. He starts out terrified, then looks at the water and takes one step, then runs away. Cashew bits on the yellow tray got him to walk over and step in the water. Finally he starts drinking the water and shaking his head. Then he starts holding up his wings. Then I sneak out the spray bottle. Then husband comes in and everything goes back to square one. Then another cashew, some splashing by his human, then I hide behind and mist water over the shoulder. Finally! Gus is wet, splashing, flapping his wings, ducking his head, wet enough to count as a bath. I run to get camera for proof. The whole process takes over an hour. But isn't he cute when he's wet?
