Cosmo is supposed to be blue, but I'm questioning it.....It's ok...I love him no matter...lol
He's sweet and adorable! He looks teal, light blue leggings and the feathers that are clipped look like they would have been a dark blue. I'm not sure what determines a teal, blue or pallid.....

Regardless, Cosmo is really beautiful!
The only reason I asked was because back when you were talking with the breeder, I thought you said it was a Pallid that she had available. Maybe I'm not remembering correctly :)
Good luck! I love Cosmo's cage set up too.. Looks great.

Cosmo now has a play gym! He will be starting to learn what it is today! LOL.....He seems pretty open minded about new things.....but he sure can stretch his neck out to get a good look first! And it is sooo nice to have a birdy that eats veggies!!! Simba just loves fruit....well, favorite fruit....lol

The cockatiel from rescue should be coming home this weekend. The results of his testing should be back by then. In the process Betty was sex tested.....lol Betty is a male crossdresser.....so I think we'll be changing Betty's name to a male name or one of questionable gender....maybe cricket??? Any suggestions? He didn't have a name when he arrived at rescue and they thought maybe he was female....so I don't think he's had the name Betty for a long time....I'll find out more this weekend...

Is there any reason to keep Cosmo and Cricket apart at play time? Different cages, yes....absolutely! Just curious if the play gym would be more fun if they were both playing at the same time.... And if it is appropriate, how do I go about introducing the idea? What behaviour do i need to watch for? Also, how soon can I start potty training? Procedure???? Thanks for all the help!!! I truly do appreciate it!

Cosmo my blue quaker likes to scream now too....but I think he's trying to find his voice! I moved his cage so he can see and hear Simba the BnG.. Simba has been teaching Cosmo to talk since Simba chatters constantly. If Cosmo doesn't know the words yet he resorts to mumbling or screaming. I've tried a playstand but he is scared of the toy monsters on it....We gave Cosmo a large wooden ladder and he works all day carrying things up and down it rather than just playing and screaming. Although anything new in sight sets off the screams still.....you know....the corn on the cob monster, etc....LOL

That is awesome that Simba is teaching him to talk. Quakers can be GREAT talkers, so once he starts, there will be no stopping him. :)

How loud are his screams???

I'm only asking because Ripley has taught Sam to scream, too....and I'm not very grateful for it. :32:

So far I haven't heard any fire sirens!!! But I have heard the natural bird sounds.....happens mostly when he doesn't know the words or when Simba is doing macaw sounds....I don't stop them...but try to control the amount and time....I assume a little naturalness is good for them and necessary for their lungs???? But I don't think it needs to be during my time.....lol
