Well that's good because I don't care how long it takes. As long as we are making progress that's fine with me.

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
This particular journey probably begins with handfeeding millet spray...

The way to a bird's heart is through his stomach.

Thanks Birdman. I have been trying just talking to her and resting my hand in the cage waiting for her to get used to me. I will switch to offering millet more often. Maybe that will work better. Thanks.

What type of bird is Charlie? Two months is not that long when you consider how long birds can live. Keep building trust and be patient. I hope you will keep us updated on your progress! Good luck

Charlie is a cockatiel! The previous owner said she's had her for about 3 years, so I think she's around 3-4 years. She wasn't tame at all when I first got her. She couldn't-and still can't- fly. The previous owners locked her in a small circular cage. I'm trying to motivate her to build her wing muscles, but that may take a while...She won't even jump from my finger to the cage :/. When I first got her, she would bite and wouldn't let go unless you moved away. Now, she still bites occasionally, but is comfortable stepping up and receiving kisses. She's a sweet girl when she's not scared :)

I hope Popcorn continues her journey into becoming a wonderful companion, even if it may be with your mother instead of you. -hugs- :) Perhaps with other tiels around that might be friendly, she'll learn from example?
