I'm new to parrot ownership and bought a new cage for Buddy. The one he came with was held together with zip ties, couldn't have that. He's had it for two months now and he's so messy but it's not too dirty. It's on wheels so my plan has been to roll it outside and scrub it down followed by a thorough rinse. My original plan is Buddy would be in his travel cage but his stinky butt could use a good bath too. Shower fun is an existing issue I've been working with him on slowly, but yes, he could be hosed down. That is a joke.

I never thought about steam cleaning so this is a great thread. I have a steam cleaner so I'm going to look at it and see if I can use it on Buddy's cage. I'm targeting before it gets cold. Has anyone used a rental and the attachments with it? Those run about $25 a day here and worth it if my steam cleaner can't.
