My ceiling fan that I love is now a favorite perch so I never use it. I haven't used it in almost a year.
The last time I used it I turned it off but the switch that turns it on is a push type switch and someone touched the switch and turned it on. I was gone and I came home to find it on. I turned it off at the pull cord and never ran it again.
I thought about covering it or removing it but all (even the babies) of the birds like to perch there.
It does spin a very little sometimes but they seem to enjoy that.
