Cockatiel Skin

Hello All,

Cockatiels being dusty birds is not news to me but I am curious if this is normal for Cockatiels' skin or if there are changes we should make in his care? He appears to have dead or peeling skin everywhere we can see but especially around the neck and beak area. At first I thought it was new feather growth but it doesn't appear to be and we have had him for about 3 weeks now. Is this just normal for cockatiels? He's very reluctant to take baths so I'm working on it slowly with him. One of our budgies takes baths every single day so I'm hoping watching her will help get him to a better place with it.

Thanks!

That is normal cockatiel skin. here's a naked parrot. their skin isn't smooth like hours it has all these lines and ridges.

Thank you! That's one thing I can check off my list lol. Now to get him to a place where we can trim his nails without fits and have him bathe/tolerate being sprayed down. He's also started getting snippy with anyone but my husband and I.
