Dogs saliva is fine, it actually has antibacterial properties that can heal.
However it's when the bird is actually bitten by the dog or cat that causes the trouble & is a trip to the ER Vet.
That's not what my vet told me.. but I would rather err on the side of caution just the same
But I'll definitely look into it again.. I don't want t be giving out false info. :thumbup:

94lt1 it's the actual puncture wound that creates the biggest problem as germs quickly find their way into the wound & causes infection.
But your right to err on caution. I don't even let my dogs lick me let alone my parrots I think it's gross. However i do know parrot owners that think nothing of this practice.
