I'm planning to get a Green Cheek Conure but I live in an apartment. I've been doing research but there are so many different opinions on how "loud" a GCC is! I would not risk getting a bird if I am not able to care for it for the foreseeable future, so if a GCC is not right for apartment living I would not get one until I move into a house.
The situation: My apartment is suite style; I have my own room that is connected to a common room, my three roommates have their own rooms as well. My roommates obviously know that I am planning to get a bird and are fine with it "as long as it's not annoyingly loud". The walls of my apartment are not super sound-proof, so I could not have a bird that is louder than, say, as loud as a human could normally sing or talk without going into scream-mode, during the time frame where humans would normally be asleep (probably around 11pm - 9 am).
I've read that conures have a tendency to screech in the mornings and before bed, if they do, what time does it usually happen, and how loud is it?
Would it be a good idea for me to get a Green Cheek?
