Help with my baby

Nigel is a rescue bird I got for my birthday 2 years ago at first we were doing well I have a German shepherd and his page got knocked over and it seems like we are back to square one I have since bought him a large cage that cannot be tipped what can I do to help me train him he does I can get in his cage and clean it I can give him food from that I eat but he doesn't he just sits in his cage right now and I'm worried he's not hurt he did get out of his cage and to try and get him back in I tried to step up it did not work so I did pick him up but he pinched severely I've got bruises but no broken skin and he does when I start to get into his cage and try and get him to step up he does pick at me he doesn't bite me where do I go from here

How long ago was his cage knocked over?
I’d recommend target training him as it’s hands off and mentally engaging for your bird.

Just take it slow with him again, treat him like you just brought him home, feed him treats and talk to him softly, get him used to your presence again.
