Hi everyone! My 10 months old male Ekkie is having severe feather loss and deformation since 1 month, im afraid it might be PBFD. Experts please give your opinion.

Looks to me like your boy is chewing/barbering them, and pretty severely. Lots of different reasons that can cause that. What's his diet like? What does he do throughout the day? Is he out of the cage, have toys to occupy him and chew/destroy? As far as medical things, you really need testing done by a vet, preferably an avian vet if there's one you can get to in your area/country. He should really be seen by a vet for wellness checks regularly anyway, just like we would take our human kids to the doctor.

He gets a veggie fruit mix as a staple in the morning and some seed mix in the evening, he gets regular out of cage time i have a 10 years old African Grey and they play together when out of cage. He is kept in a well ventilated room and gets regular sunlight daily. The cage is kept in the house where there is lot of traffic. I have no dogs and cats. My two kids 9 and 6 do not dusturb the birds either. He gets showers as well. I don't know what's causing him stress? His appetite is also not good doesn't eat the fruit veggie mix as much as he should.
Loves seed mix though. I live in a place where are are no certified Avian vets available. No facility available for PBFD screening here.

Okay, what kind of veggie/fruit mix? Is any of the diet "fortified" with vitamins and such? Ekkies are prone to issues from "too much of a good thing" and require a diet that's not so heavily nutrient dense. Seed diet for ekkies is controversial, and commonly recommended to give very sparingly, if at all.

Also, is it possible your grey is picking at him as well?

All seasonal veggies like carrots, zucchini, bell peppers, peas, and apples, oranges and banana mostly, I am not using any vitamin supplements in his diet. African grey is not picking on him rather the Ekkie bosses him around.

Ahh, okay. Might consider limiting the fruit so sugar intake is not so high. Also, I'm not a fan of citrus for them in general. My guy doesn't get much in the way of fruit at all, but he's a young adult and the sugar seems to make him extra hormonal.

As for the BPFD talk to your local non-avian vets they might be willing to take the sample and send it off for testing
