Hi, I'm Leah. I'm young, and I'm a singer/songwriter. I work in a pet store with the animals and more recently the customers as well, but you all probably don't want to hear about me.
Sitting on my shoulder is my parrot, Jambo. He's a baby senegal - about four months old. I met Jambo at work when I was asked to socialize the baby senegal that they had gotten in who wasn't very friendly. His first order of business at the store was to bite my boss and take a chunk out of her hand. He was feathered, but still had baby feathers.
I spent more time with this bird than I did any of the other animals, holding it in a towel, or on my shirt. Jambo was handled by me more than anyone, although as he decided that he liked to come out of his cage and step up for me, other people started handling him as well. I took him home about a week and a half ago because it occurred to me that he was pretty much my bird, and I would be sad to see him go.
The transition for him was nice - he's very happy in his new home, despite the fact that I have two cats and two gekos as well and that I go to school or work.
