My day has come! <3

This is my new baby!!! I get to pick him/her up when it's ready to go home after it's been weaned <3 I'm going back tomorrow to play with it some more I'm also sending out the feathers to have it sexed <3 I'm so happy!!

My new baby is a black cap conure and is about 6 weeks old It's a very fast learner too! Already knows how to step up and today made great progress with being easy with that beak, whenever it bit too hard i'd just say "enough" and it'd go back to exploring my hand. Even followed me around the store for a bit hopping along behind me <3 I'm in love!

Congrats on baby bird. I am getting one on Wed. a GCC from a forum member. I will officially announce when baby is here. Baby is weined and will have wings clipped today and DNA is male. Have fun with your baby as I am sure you will.

nope change in plans im getting a tiel haha I have been to the bird breeder where I am getting my baby 3 times and the first time I held a super cute tiel and then he let me hold a green wing macaw!! It was so sweet but it was heavy compared to the tiel haaha! Last time we went we had what i think was a gold cap conure and my mom had a hair band on her finger and he was trying so hard to get it off then when he did he went over to my cousins sweatshirt and took off the metal part on the end of her sweatshirt hood!!! He was so funny and chewed on everything lol Then we got to hold baby love birds (not weaned) and he cuddled up in my hair It was sooo cute and those are the reasons why im going to this breeder haha!!\

my baby is 350 and that included his cage and a DNA test as well as free wing clipping and nail care for life

Oh for life?! Nice! I'm going to have to see if I can find any places like that, though my vet does it free with each check up so I may just have to do that.

It's from a local pet shop that deals in birds, specialty reptiles, and a few small animals. They sell locally bred animals so they support local breeders and their efforts They won't take an animal (to add to their inventory) until they do enough research on their own to know how to take care of it properly, they're a very, very high quality store
