- One Ekkie Hen
Hi!
So, I recently (about a month ago) adopted an 18-year old Eclectus hen - Ruthie. Ruthie has settled in incredibly well. She enjoys interacting, plays with her toys, relishes her showers, forages for food and explores her surroundings.
One thing I've noticed is that she is completely silent. It's not that she doesn't speak "human", rather she doesn't vocalize at all. Now, I realize this might sound like a dream situation to those who have the opposite issue. And quite honestly, if Ruthie remains silent indefinitely, it's not all bad. Having said this, I recall my previous CAG chattering/chirping/squawking when he was feeling spunky and just wanted to see if anybody has had this experience.
I also recognize it's only been a month and Ruthie has come an incredibly long way so I'm definitely not complaining. Just curious...
Any comments welcome. Thanks!
