Hello All,

I'm nervous, scared about the unknown. Please forgive me for my ignorance as I have never been threw this before.

I have a 20 year old female umbrella cockatoo who's taken up with a 15 year old big umbrella male.

Anyways on 1/08/15 about mid morning I had notice some pink lemonade like liquid on the bottom of the cage. I immediately looked to my female and notice underneath her. What I believe to be an egg that was right by her hole. Forgive me for my ignorance.. About a week or two prior to that. I had ignored the signs. She was drinking a lot more water then usual, more vocal, she's holding her stool a little long and has had a big appetite.

In short this is my first experience with parrots laying egg(s). I would like to hear back from people who have experience with cockatoo's that lay eggs or that breed them simply because I want to make sure I'm doing everything right by her and that everything will go smooth for her. What I mean is that I'm really concerned about "Egg-binding"

I'm not looking to breed her just keep her longer in my life.

I appreciate anyone's help.

Thank you
