So we made a seemingly popular PVC pipe gym. Wrapped it up with vet wrap. Which is The best stuff ever!
Then hubby drilled holes thru a bunch of pecan tree limbs, since in Georgia...that's all there is really, is pecan trees! And since we have 3 in our yard it was perfect. Then he screwed them all together to make that stacked, stick, type pyramid thing. I seen the idea in a bird store here but they wanted $50 for one. This was much cheaper! And funner! Then he drilled thru 2 ceramic condiment bowls to screw to the top of the pyramid for treats and water. They don't leak and work perfect! Then took a chain and hung it up!
After we did that I wanted to connect it to the top of the cage since hanging on top of a round top cage could get boring. I made a homemade rope bridge from colored sisal rope. I know it's debatable but I've never had an issue with it. Then tied it from the pyramid to the cage and then tied the gym to the pyramid.
Now it's like a never ending fun corner!
But I wanted to ask....what other homemade things can I use, make, do to add to the semi empty corner?
My birds spend only about 8 hours a night with the cage door shut. As soon as I wake up in the mornings around 6 am. I open the door. Then don't close it until around 10 pm. So they are free to go in and out as they please. And since they are out more than they are in I'm itching to add more stuff.
Can I add a fake potted tree? Beside the cage is where I'd put it. But what do I need to know about the fake trees?? Anyone ever use them?
Sorry for the crazy long post.
