Hello, my name is Derek. My wife and I have two parrots - Little Wing (Greenwing, 7 yrs) and Ozzi (WB Caique, 3 years).
We have had Little Wing for about 5 years now, Ozzi for all 3 years.
We got into parrots when one day we stopped by a place called FreeFlight - an avian rescue and boarding facility that lets visitors come in and see the birds in an natural outdoor environment. We ended up getting Little Wing from somewhere else, but my wife actually worked at FreeFlight for a couple years helping work with the birds so they could find good homes. We eventually got Ozzi from there.
Recently we opened a new online bird store, Hello, Bird!. Through our store we are trying to help avian rescues by giving a percentage of each order total directly to the referring rescue.
However, we are joining this forum not just to promote the store but be part of what looks like a great parrot community. We still have questions and issues with our birds so hopefully we can find some great information on here!
