So I'm wondering those of u who have 2 or more gcc's how cuddly are your babies? Do they lay on their backs for you? Play on their backs?

Just trying to get an idea of if mine will still do those things growing up together, so far they are pretty cuddly and always cuddle up to me together.
But haven't done the lay on back thing yet, maybe they still just to young.

But they are def my lil Velcro birds

I have 2 conures, both incredibly tame. I know they prefer each others company better than me, but that's ok.
Kahulua, my pineapple is stuck to me like glue most of the time, then flies to Flare, my green cheek, then back to me again.
Flare is more uptight, and needs to chill a bit more, but that may not happen as long as she has Kahlua, both are females.
If anything I can see Flare 'going to the other side' but not Kahlua, she is too bonded with humans.
btw, it may 'seem' we are avoiding your question, we are all busy, and may not get to it in time depending on how busy the forum is, and your question will drop out of sight before someone can answer it....it's happened to me a few times, just repost it, we're all here to help!!

I don't have a gcc but I do have a maroon bellied conure :)
He is very cuddly but he isnt fond of going on his back. I can get him on his back and if I give him a toy he stays there but other than that he wont stay xD He also has to be in my hand. He is very bonded to me and sticks to me like glue. :D

ha ha < I know that feeling, but it's nothing personal.
conures are really great pets Flare goes on her back, Kahlua not so much, but she's a real cuddle bug, where Flare isn't.
remember, most times they will prefer their own kind over a human

Yellow Sided GCC Oliver (October 2009), and a Cinnamon GCC Mia (August 2013)
Oliver will sometimes go on his back in my hand, and he has to keep hold of my finger otherwise he gets too scared and doesn't like it. I never really tried to make him do it he just kind of did it one day. He was already a year old when I got him though. He also lays frontwards on my hand and sort of conforms his body shape to my hand when I'm petting him sometimes. I've had oliver for I guess 5 years now. Mia is my newer bird and she isn't as comfortable with me yet so she would be too scared if I tried to put her on her back.

Thanx for the input guys. Attached is a pic of my previous gcc's and he loved being in his back. My 2 so far seem to like stretching out and flattening themselves on the bed or laying on their sides hehe

Maybe they just don't like lying on their backs. If so, it's not the end of the world.

Very true Legal eagle. but they also still young so who knows.

Mugglemommy: so far I think I made a good choice, my babies keep each other company and still stick to me or my kids like glue, even love my hubby. keeping in mind that mine are siblings and I have had them from 3 weeks old. but they both have totally different personalities, Dexter is the clown of the 2 he loves scritches loves being touched loves to kiss amnd cuddle in my hair.
Gizmo is more placid, doesn't kiss, loves scritches occasionally basically prefers to just be around us, where dexter demands attention.

Turquoise: Loquito (Little crazy) aka Loqui.
Cinnamon: Lila
Okay so I didn't read thru all the comments but here was my experience. I had Loqui first got him young. Right at the age when they're fully weaned and ready for a new home. And it was just me and him. We bonded very closely as he was very distrustful of all people as a baby and just shy in general.
We bonded to a point where I could flip him on his back and tickle him, kiss him, he would even crawl in bed with me at night!
But it was beginning to be a little unhealthy I think. To the point where he had bad separation anxiety and would contact call long after I had left. He never learned really how to entertain himself since he was always out and always with me. It was either that, sleeping or eating. Never minded his toys much.
I got Loqui in August '11 And I got Lila Feb '12.
She was meant as a companion for him so I'll admit me and her never really bonded the way me and Loqui did. I love her just the same don't get me wrong but she's just not a bird who enjoys being flipped over and cuddled by me. She will tolerate it tho. She was always more outgoing than him and took to me quickly. By day one she was stepping up for me where Loqui took close to a month do that.
I feel as if winning him over and the process of gaining his trust has made out relationship stronger. Where as Lila will quickly befriend almost anyone. But when she met Loqui she bonded to him and that was that.
They both still prefer me to other people and seek me out if other people are over but the less time I spend with Loqui the more bonded he becomes to Lila. And that's fine. That's what I wanted. I wanted him to have someone when I wasn't around. But what I've noticed is that just cos he binds with her doesn't mean our bond is gone. It only takes a little one on one time to have him back to being my little cuddle buddy like he was when he was a baby.

I guess what I'm saying is I THINK you have a better chance at getting the cuddly bird you want if you separate them and bond with them each separately before letting them live fully together and bonding to each other. Because they're all cuddles when they're young. Believe me lol.
The bond you create now will prove itself when they are sexually mature and acting wild later on in life. Especially if there's another bird around for the mating season and whatnot. You can already imagine. Lol.
(This is just my opinion/experience. Every bird is different. )

Good luck with your babies!! Even though it has it's challenges two is def better than one in my eyes. & sorry this is so long. I tend to babble lol.

Turquoise GCC - Fiji - Hatch Date: 8/14/12 and Yellow Sided GCC - Sundance - Hatch Date: 4/12/13
Bradari, that is such a cute pic of your GCC on his back! adorable! I love the way his feet look. My Fiji gets on her back sometimes, but not often. Sundance, forget about it. He is the total opposite of Fiji. He doesn't like any kind of hands touching him, although he will step up, ride around on your shoulder and give kisses. Just don't try to pet him or anything like that. These little birds sure keep us on our toes!
