I just read on another forum that mutation parrotlets should not eat pellets because it can cause liver damage and even failure. Is this true? I am planning ahead for my future parrot, but am having trouble finding a seed blend or pelleted diet that specifically is for parrotlets.

I feed my parrotlets a Cockatiel Mix. It has seeds, dried vegs, & pellets. Plus fresh veg & fruit. They all are fine, and doing well. I'm one of those people not in favor of pellets as a primary diet food.

The most important part of any parrot diet is variety and lots of fresh food. Staple diets can be seed or pellet mixes, it doesn't matter, as long as they are given good variety of tee fresh food revelry day. Ideally, the best diet would be fresh food we make, but we don't all have the time.
