Please help!!! I was petting my bird when I realised that there was like a red-purple sack hanging from the butt, I thought it was blueberry as I’ve just fed her that but as I’m pulling it out, blood starting to come out… can anyone tell me what’s wrong with her??? I’m so scared. She’s a BFA and about 10 weeks old now.

P.s. I tried to pull it, she didn’t scream or making noises.

Please help, I don’t want her to die, please…

@Claires, I'm so very sorry for your situation. Bird vets can be SO hard to get into at this time of year, even my guy closes down altogether between Christmas and New Year! But he does have an arrangement with a separate 24 hour service who can contact him in an emergency, so I've attached a list of avian vets below for you, It's worth contacting them even if they're closed, they may have info on their recorded message that might point you to an after hours vet ...

If you're ok to advise what general area you're located in I'd be happy to help you look - I'm in Australia too :)

How horrifying! Here's all I have...
Certified Avian Vets
If none are near you...
Avian Veterinarians
In my opinion, any of the vets listed here should be better than a regular vet.
International contacts, too.
Good luck!!!!!!

Hi guys, thank you so much for all the support. I did try to call every Vet that’s open 24/7 that willing to take in parrots. I took her in first thing in the morning to the best specialist bird hospital which took me about 2.5h. Unfortunately she passed away the next day and I asked the ver and she told me that it’s her intestine coming out, it still unknown what caused it.

I still have her brother/sister with me, hopefully nothing is going to go south for this little one…

I am so sorry she passed away, I know how much that hurts. A prolapse like that is very serious and you did all you could. My sympathies are with you.
