I just took one of my cages out of storage today to get it ready for the conure im getting from a breeder in june. the cage originally house a maxi. pionus. dont worry i cleaned it very well, scrubbed it ect.. and left it out in the fun to airdry. but on a few bars, theres some slight rust. nothing big or major. but theres some rust. now i'm going to sand it down, but im wondering what paint is safe for birds? or should i just sand it and leave it alone?

I just recommend you read the thread below your own, looks like everyone is saying to trash the old cage and buy it brand new. I too would suggest the same.

Thanks for the reply. i really done have enough money for another cage. i was thinking if maybe if i sanded the rust down, then maybe wrapped it in vet wrap so it would prevent the birds from coming in contact. do you think that would work?
